Mollie Cohen is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Purdue University and a faculty member in the Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts program. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Vanderbilt University and previously served as an Assistant Professor of International Affairs at the University of Georgia and a Research Fellow at the LAPOP Lab. Her research focuses on public opinion, voting behavior, and democratic processes in Latin America, with a particular emphasis on how democratic backsliding influences protest voting.
Her notable work includes the book *None of the Above: Protest Voting in Latin American Democracies* (2024), which examines campaigns promoting blank/ spoiled votes during democratic erosion. This work earned the David O. Sears Best Book on Mass Politics Award (2025). Her research appears in top journals like the *American Journal of Political Science*, *Journal of Politics*, and *Political Analysis*.
Cohen’s work also explores methodological innovations in survey design and electoral integrity. She has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and Russell Sage Foundation. Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses on comparative politics, research design, and political behavior at Purdue, UGA, and Vanderbilt.
