Sister Moira Debono is a Lecturer at the School of Philosophy & Theology, University of Notre Dame Australia, Sydney campus. A Religious Sister of Mercy of Alma, Michigan, USA, she brings extensive international academic and pastoral experience, having taught at St. John Vianney Seminary (Denver) and the University of Portland (Oregon) before moving to Australia in 2008.
Her teaching and research focus on core areas of Catholic theology, particularly Sacraments, Liturgy, and Ecclesiology, with a special emphasis on the Sacrament of Marriage. She integrates theological scholarship with active engagement in the Church, delivering retreats, workshops, and conferences across Australia and North America.
The recent publications reflect a dual focus: sacramental and liturgical theology, and innovative approaches to theological education and student learning outcomes. Her scholarly work is grounded in Catholic intellectual tradition and contributes to both academic and ecclesial communities.
