Mohna Baichoo is an Instructor in the School of Tourism Management at Capilano University, part of the Faculty of Global & Community Studies. With 16 years of combined industry and academic experience, she specializes in Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and global tourism education. Holding degrees from Royal Roads University (MA 2017), Cornell University (2014), and the University of Massachusetts (B.Sc. 2012), she brings international expertise from Switzerland, UAE, and Mauritius.
Her teaching focuses on embedding WIL components through case studies, field trips, and community partnerships, preparing students for workforce readiness. Research interests include technology's role in personalized hospitality service, evidenced by her master's thesis on boutique hotels in Victoria, BC.
Professional contributions include leadership roles such as Faculty Lead of WIL at CapU and Vice-Chair of the Faculty of Global & Community Studies. She actively participates in national initiatives through organizations like CEWIL Canada and ACE-WIL, reviewing WIL funding applications and contributing to policy development. Certified as a Global WIL Practitioner, she champions WIL advocacy across regional and national education networks.
