Mohammad Rezazade Mehrizi

Dr. Mohammad Rezazade Mehrizi is an Associate Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the School of Business and Economics and the KIN Center for Digital Innovation. He holds dual PhDs in Science and Technology Policy (Sharif University of Technology/SPRU, UK) and Management Science (ESADE Business School, Barcelona). His research focuses on organizational learning, unlearning, AI integration in healthcare, and discontinuance of obsolete systems. He also holds an ancillary position at Leiden University since 2022.

Education: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Sharif University), MBA (Sharif University, 2005), and two PhDs. He received a grant for SPRU (University of Sussex, UK) in 2006 as part of a joint PhD program. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to innovation and healthcare.

Research Interests: Organizations' ability to unlearn outdated practices, AI implementation challenges in radiology, learning from failures, and adapting business models for emerging technologies like big data analytics. Key areas include medical AI ethics, human-AI collaboration, and organizational complexity reduction.
