Mohammad Ostadi is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Energy Section Hydrogen and Electro-fuels, part of the Faculty of Engineering and Science at Aalborg University (AAU). His research focuses on low-carbon energy systems, including hydrogen integration, biomass gasification, and sustainable liquid fuel production. He holds a PhD in Process Design and Optimization from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), awarded in 2017.
His expertise spans process design optimization for energy systems, with a particular emphasis on methanol synthesis, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, and ammonia production. He leads the Methanol Production from Renewable Sources on an Offshore Platform project (2024), funded by the Danish Offshore Technology Centre. His work addresses corrosion modeling in CO2 pipelines, electrolysis dynamics, and flexible process design for renewable energy integration.
Research interests include hydrogen-enhanced biomass gasification, CO2 transportation infrastructure resilience, and power-to-X technologies. He has published widely on topics ranging from exergy analysis of power-to-liquid processes to parametric optimization of energy systems. His collaborations span academia and industry, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions aligning with UN SDGs.
