Mohammad Javad Ahmadi

Mohammad Javad Ahmadi is a Research Assistant Professor at Purdue University's College of Education, Educational Studies department, and a Senior Research Scientist at Purdue Applied Research Institute (PARI) since 2022. His work focuses on international education development, culturally relevant pedagogy, and teacher professional development in fragile contexts.

• M.A. in Philosophy of Science from Sharif University of Technology (2004)
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2000)

His research examines early grade reading initiatives, curriculum reform, and systemic capacity-building in Afghanistan. He has consulted for the World Bank and UNESCO and led teacher training evaluations in conflict-affected regions. His publications emphasize culturally responsive education, multilingual literacy, and policy implementation challenges.

Recent presentations include studies on language-minority children's literacy at CIES 2021 and systems thinking in higher education at CIES 2024. He teaches EDST 64600: Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education and has contributed to program evaluations in Afghanistan.
