Dr. Mohamed Tashani is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney and affiliated with the Children's Hospital Westmead Clinical School. He is also a Paediatric Advanced Trainee at the Sydney Children's Hospital Network. His academic journey includes a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh) from the University of Tripoli (2008), followed by two Master's degrees in Public Health from the University of New South Wales (2011 and 2012). He completed a PhD in Immunology at the University of Sydney (2017), focusing on vaccine interactions and immunogenicity in vulnerable populations.
Research Interests: Tashani’s research centers on optimizing vaccine strategies, particularly for Hajj pilgrims and pediatric populations. His work explores interactions between conjugate vaccines, antimicrobial resistance, and public health interventions. He has conducted randomized controlled trials with the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS), addressing vaccine timing and co-administration effects.
