Mogens Kilstrup

Mogens Kilstrup is an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark's Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine, specializing in microbial genetics and bioprocess engineering.

His research focuses on bacteriophage engineering, metabolic regulation in industrial strains, and optimization of large-scale fermentation processes. Recent work includes developing cell-free phage synthesis platforms and engineering E. coli strains for human milk oligosaccharide production.

Current projects investigate microbial adaptations using single-cell fluorescence microscopy and electrochemical metabolite sensing in bioreactors. Dr. Kilstrup contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through biotechnological innovations.

He leads multiple PhD projects on mammalian cell culture optimization, dementia biomarker detection, and diamond-based cellular sensing technologies.
