معرفی
Mo Li is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Samueli School of Engineering, University of California, Irvine, with a joint appointment in Materials Science and Engineering. Their research explores unconventional infrastructure materials and their integration with structural engineering, damage sensing, and advanced manufacturing to enhance infrastructure longevity, safety, and resilience.
Education:
- Ph.D., Civil Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2009)
- M.S.E., Industrial and Operations Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2008)
- M.S.E., Civil Engineering, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2003)
- B.S.E., Civil Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai, China (2001)
Research Focus:
Mo Li’s lab develops next-generation infrastructure materials through three dimensions: (1) creating new materials with advanced properties and functionalities (e.g., self-healing concrete, ultra high-ductility cementitious materials), (2) analyzing material behavior under mechanical and environmental conditions, and (3) linking material properties to structural performance and large-scale environmental impacts. Key subfields include damage self-sensing in concrete, cementitious materials chemistry, radioactive waste immobilization, and 3D printing for structural applications.
