معرفی
Dong Joo Kim is a full-time Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Sejong University, Seoul, Korea. His research focuses on advanced construction materials, particularly Ultra-High-Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) and smart materials with self-healing and self-sensing properties.
- Education: B.S. (1997) and M.S. (1999) from Hanyang University; Ph.D. (2009) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
His work explores high strain rate effects on materials, self-sensing responses in smart composites, and hybrid machine learning models for predicting dynamic tensile strengths. He has developed innovative systems like the Strain Energy Impact Test System (SEITS) and SEITS Frame Impact Machine (SEFIM).
The recent articles highlight his expertise in smart ultra-high-performance concrete, textile-reinforced composites, and low-carbon cementitious materials. Key trends include leveraging conductive fibers for damage sensing, integrating machine learning for post-cracking analysis, and advancing seismic resilience in concrete columns.
