Michael Fortun

Michael Fortun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on the anthropology of science, particularly examining genomics, air pollution science, and data science. He explores how air pollution impacts human health and bodies, and investigates collaborative efforts between scientists, engineers, practitioners, and communities to address these issues. Fortun also studies the development and maintenance of data infrastructures to manage the biological, social, and health consequences of air pollution.
