Dr. Mo'tassem Al Arydah serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Khalifa University's College of Arts and Sciences, having joined in 2015 initially as a Senior Lecturer before his promotion to Assistant Professor in 2019. His academic foundation includes a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Ottawa (2009).
His educational background comprises:
- PhD, Applied Mathematics, University of Ottawa (Canada), 2009
- Master of Mathematics, Yarmouk University (Jordan), 2003
- Bachelor of Mathematics, Yarmouk University (Jordan), 2000
Dr. Al Arydah specializes in mathematical modeling of physical and biological systems, with core expertise in infectious disease dynamics, optimal control theory, and stability analysis of dynamical systems. His research bridges theoretical mathematics with critical public health applications including radon-induced lung cancer risk assessment, radiation-cerebrovascular disease relationships, and hydrogen fuel cell reaction-diffusion modeling. Current work prioritizes optimal control strategies for infectious disease mitigation through computational and analytical approaches.
His exceptional teaching was recognized with the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award (2019) for courses including Differential Equations (MATH206) and Mathematical Models for Biology and Epidemiology (CHEG620).
Dr. Al Arydah currently supervises:
- Omar Forrest (PhD candidate)
- Batool Amjed Jamal Froock (PhD candidate)
- Eman Maher Ahmed Abu Hamra (MSc candidate)
