Mitt Regan, Jr. is the McDevitt Professor of Jurisprudence at Georgetown University Law Center, Director of the Center on Ethics and the Legal Profession, and Coordinator of the Program on Law, Ethics, and International Security. He holds a B.A. from the University of Houston, M.A. from UCLA, and J.D. from Georgetown University.
- Leading interdisciplinary projects on national security ethics, including analysis of civilian harm in war and counterterrorism frameworks
- Authored/co-edited books on drone strikes, hybrid threats, legal ethics in law firms, and military virtues
- Consultant to Ukraine Prosecutor General’s Office on war crimes prosecution
Research focuses on intersections of law, ethics, and national security, particularly artificial intelligence ethics, legal accountability for covert actions, and hybrid warfare challenges. His Center hosts annual Law Firm General Counsel Workshops addressing modern legal practice issues.
Notable collaborations include work with the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group and contributions to Oxford University Press volumes on asymmetric conflict legal frameworks. Media engagements include CBS News commentary on drone strike ethics and Prio coverage of military AI ethics conferences.
