Mitchell Federer is an Adjunct Professor at Southwestern Law School, where he teaches Unscripted TV Production Law. He joined the institution in 2017. Federer holds a B.S. in Business Administration & Science (cum laude, 2006) from the University of Florida and a J.D. (2009) from Southwestern Law School. He is a member of the California State Bar.
Professionally, Federer is a founding partner at the boutique entertainment law firm Weinstein Senior, LLP. His career includes roles as Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs at Kinetic Content; Senior Counsel & Managing Partner, Business & Legal Affairs at GRB Entertainment; and Manager of Business & Legal Affairs at Mark Burnett Productions, where he worked on high-profile shows like The Voice, Shark Tank, and Survivor. Earlier, he practiced civil defense litigation at Ramey & DeBlanc, LLP.
His expertise spans entertainment law, corporate legal affairs, and business management, with a focus on media production, intellectual property, and corporate governance. Federer is also actively involved in sports, competing in triathlons and coaching his daughter’s soccer team.
