Mitchel Dascent is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences, focusing on geospatial information systems (GIS) and practical applications in military contexts. He has extensive experience as a Geospatial Engineer Technician, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as a GEOINT Cell Officer in Charge.
- Education: M.S. in Applied Science (Delta State University), B.S. in Business Administration (Franklin University), A.S. in General Studies (Central Texas University).
- Research Interests: Expanding GIS knowledge, refining data collection/dissemination techniques, integrating warrant officer cohorts into cadet training, and optimizing collaboration with warrant officers in field operations.
- Publications: Co-authored a forthcoming book on military resilience and leadership narratives.
- Military Roles: Plans and Analysis OIC for the 5th Geospatial Engineer Detachment, NGA Support Team - Army, and served in the 101st Division at Fort Campbell, KY.
