Colonel Sean Morrow is the Director at the United States Military Academy (West Point), where he previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Philosophy from 2010-2012. With extensive military experience including command roles in Iraq and Afghanistan, he brings practical field experience to his academic role. He currently resides in West Point, NY and serves as President of the West Point Class of 2001.

Research Focus:
Sean Morrow's academic work centers on English literature and philosophy, with particular expertise in narratives of political violence. His graduate studies in Irish Studies at Boston College focused specifically on how political violence is represented and understood through narrative structures, bringing a unique interdisciplinary perspective that combines literary analysis with political science and military experience.
Military Leadership & International Relations:
Beyond his academic role, Colonel Morrow has extensive operational experience including leading a rifle platoon during the 2003 Iraq invasion, commanding an infantry company during the 2007-2008 Baghdad Surge, and serving as Brigade Executive Officer in Afghanistan. Most recently, he commanded the United Nations Command Security Battalion in Panmunjom, Korea, where he participated in over 40 direct engagements with North Korean military forces and hosted a historic 2019 meeting between U.S., ROK, and DPRK leaders.
