Miso Wei

Miso Wei serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Production Technology and Management department, teaching Stage Management, Production Management, Communication, International and Cross-Cultural Management, and Embodiment Leadership. Her academic role is deeply integrated with extensive international industry experience spanning theater, musicals, and large-scale entertainment operations across Taiwan, Hong Kong, Belgium, China, and the United States.

Her professional affiliations include:

• Production Stage Manager for the first Mandarin Lion King at Shanghai Disney Resort
• Senior Entertainment Leadership at Disney managing 800+ personnel for parades and character operations
• Stage/Production Management credits at Broadway, La Jolla Playhouse, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Taipei Fringe Festival
• Collaborations with Taiwan Performing Arts Center, USITT, OISTAT, and UC San Diego

Professor Wei's research centers on culturally responsive teaching pedagogy for international students and embodiment practices in leadership. She investigates how physical awareness of emotions and power dynamics enhances professional communication, grounded in her philosophy that theater bridges personal, interpersonal, and global divides.
