Mirosław Kalinowski

Mirosław Kalinowski is a Professor and current Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin since September 1, 2020. He works within the Faculty of Theology, specifically at the Department of Palliative and Hospice Social Care, where he directed the Institute of Family Sciences from 2002-2005 and 2018-2019.

• Education: Filozoficzno-teologiczne studies (1981-1987) at Hosianum Theological Seminary, Doctorate (1993) at KUL, Habilitation (2001) at KUL

His research focuses on pastoral theology, palliative/hospice care (non-medical aspects), social pathology prevention, and resocialization through education. He pioneered interdisciplinary family sciences programs and organized postgraduate studies in pastoral counseling and addiction prevention.

Professor Kalinowski has received 21 scientific awards, including:

• 2007 - Honorary Doctorate from National University of Banking (Kyiv)
• 2023 - 8 distinct honors including Totus Tuus Award and Sapientia et Veritas Medal
• 2024 - Father Idzi Radziszewski Scientific Award

He held visiting positions at theological institutions in Poland, Slovakia, and Ukraine, while serving as a scientific expert for State Accreditation Committee and Council of Higher Education Policy.
