Mirosław Chmielewski

Mirosław Chmielewski serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Detailed Catechetics and Contemporary Forms of Transmission of the Faith within the Faculty of Theology at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. A member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (CSsR), he has maintained continuous academic engagement since 1994, with formal teaching positions at the Redemptorist Major Seminary in Tuchów (1994-2023), the Institute of Family Studies at KUL (2007-2010), and the Institute of Pastoral Theology and Catechetics (2010/11). He earned his doctorate in 2007 with research on Fr. Henryk Pagiewski and completed his habilitation in 2019 on media education development.

His research interests focus on the intersection of theology, media, and religious communication, particularly examining media education in religious contexts, catechetical teaching methods, and Church communication strategies. His work demonstrates a consistent trajectory from traditional catechetical studies toward contemporary media challenges facing the Church, with significant contributions during the pandemic period examining Church communication restrictions.

Chmielewski's publications reveal strong thematic consistency across media theology, catechetics, and religious communication, with increasing focus on digital evangelization approaches since 2014. His recent work (2022-2024) shows particular attention to pandemic-related communication challenges, digital evangelization strategies, and media education for religious educators.
