Mirko Baratta

Mirko Baratta is an Associate Professor at the Department of Energy (DENERG) of the Polytechnic University of Turin, and a member of the CARS@PoliTO Interdepartmental Center for Automotive Research and Sustainable Mobility. His academic activities span teaching and research in combustion, hydrogen energy, and fluid machinery.

Research interests focus on

• Combustion diagnosis of internal combustion engines
• Decarbonization via low-carbon fuels
• Hydrogen-fueled propulsion systems
• Gas turbine emissions and efficiency
• Predictive combustion modeling
• Secondary-flow analysis in gas turbines

His recent publications analyze hydrogen-blended fuels, NOx emissions in gas turbines, and combustion modeling for sustainable power generation. Projects include FLEX-GEN and commercial research contracts with EthosEnergy Italia SpA.
