Miriam Holst Jensen is a Research Fellow at Aalborg University's Department of Culture and Learning, within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She leads the Techno-Anthropology Lab and focuses on critical time studies, participatory research, climate adaptation, and human-landscape relations. Her work emphasizes temporal mismatches and conflicts in participatory planning contexts, aiming to foster temporal attunement and reconcile arrhythmias in societal systems.
Key research areas include temporal attunement in river landscapes, deliberative planning methodologies, and the interplay between human and more-than-human actors. Jensen has conducted extensive fieldwork on seasonalities in river systems and the socio-environmental dynamics of flood management.
Her recent publications explore 'Planning beyond the clock' and 'feral swans as encounters' in seasonal adaptations. She has actively engaged with stakeholders in regional climate adaptation projects, notably leading a 10-year initiative on flood planning in Kongeåen river catchment. Jensen frequently lectures on temporal conflict resolution and participatory methods, contributing to academic conferences and media discussions on climate resilience.
Her work bridges environmental humanities, planning theory, and ethnography, advocating for inclusive temporal frameworks in sustainability challenges. Despite no listed awards, her research is highly cited in planning theory and environmental policy domains.
