Miriam Glucksmann is a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Department of Sociology since 2015. She holds an Emeritus Professor title from the University of Essex, where she worked until 2015. Her academic journey includes positions at Brunel, Leicester, and South Bank universities, alongside Visiting Research Fellowships at Manchester, the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study, Griffith University, the Australian National University, and the University of Stockholm (which awarded her an honorary doctorate).
Glucksmann's research focuses on work, employment, gender, and the division of labor. She pioneered studies on restructuring labor markets and the interplay between paid and unpaid work. Her ERC-funded project on 'Consumption Work and Societal Divisions of Labour' analyzed consumer roles in labor systems. Recent work explores Holocaust memory transmission and intergenerational trauma through historical and biographical lenses.
