Mirdza Kursīte is an Acting Lecturer and Senior Laboratory Assistant at the Institute of Public Health, Riga Stradins University. Her research focuses on public health challenges, including pandemic management, healthcare personnel behavior, and patient adherence to treatment. She has led/co-led multiple projects addressing self-care in cardiovascular patients, reproductive health, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Key contributions include studies on Latvian healthcare professionals' knowledge of valproate medications and public perception of COVID-19 vaccines. She received the 2022 Riga Stradins University Lecturer of the Year award.

- Study on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Latvia (2022-2023)
Research Themes: Pandemic response, healthcare professional practices, chronic disease management, and public health policy. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health (SDG 3.3).
Activities & Media: Delivered talks on research methodology, telemedicine, and pandemic response. Contributed to media discussions on vaccine safety, obesity risks in COVID-19, and telehealth expansion in Latvia.
