Mirco Ravanelli is an Assistant Professor at Concordia University (Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science), specializing in deep learning for sequence processing with a focus on Conversational AI. He holds adjunct roles at Université de Montréal (DIRO) and is an Associate Member at Mila - Quebec AI Institute. He leads the SpeechBrain open-source project, a widely adopted toolkit for conversational AI.
His academic journey includes a PhD (cum laude) from the University of Trento (2017) and a postdoc under Yoshua Bengio at Mila.
