Miranda Harris is a Senior Lecturer in Nutritional Therapy at the University of Worcester's School of Health and Wellbeing, within the Department of Community, Social Justice and Health. She holds dual roles as a Registered Nutritionist (mBANT, CNHC) and academic, with over a decade of clinical experience specializing in sports nutrition and chronic health conditions.
Qualifications include a Master's in Nutritional Therapy (Distinction), and Postgraduate Certificates in Teaching in Higher Education and Nutrition for Competitive Athletes. Her research focuses on evaluating online nutrition programs for mental/physical health, and nutritional knowledge/behavior in conditions like hypermobility syndrome and menopause.
Recent work includes studies on ketogenic diets' impact on gut bacteria, probiotics for hypertension, and multidisciplinary approaches to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She leads the Research Methods and Dissertation modules on the MSc Nutritional Therapy program, and publishes student dissertations as part of her academic responsibilities.
Honors include the 2019 UoW Teaching Award and consecutive Outstanding Lecturer awards (2020-2021). She serves on the Nutrition Evidence Database's Expert Reviewers panel and the editorial board of Nutritional Medicine Journal. Current PhD research explores behavior change through nutrition programs.
Collaborations include studies on protein/carbohydrate supplements' hormonal effects, menopausal symptom management via dietary interventions, and an 8-week health optimization program. Her external roles include British Cycling Level 3 coaching for road racing and time trialling.
