Mira Sucharov is Professor of Political Science at Carleton University, specializing in Israeli-Palestinian relations, Jewish politics, and emotions in international relations. Her research examines identity politics, conflict resolution, and political pedagogy through interdisciplinary approaches. Sucharov received the 2019 Faculty of Public Affairs Award for Excellence in Public Commentary for her extensive media engagement.
Publications include Borders and Belonging: A Memoir (2021), Public Influence: A Guide to Op-Ed Writing (2019), and The International Self: Psychoanalysis and the Search for Israeli-Palestinian Peace (2005). She co-edited volumes on social justice in Israel/Palestine and methodology in international relations. Sucharov developed innovative courses on graphic novels, Netflix and politics, and op-ed writing.
