Mira Siegelberg is an Associate Professor of Politics and Director of the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility at The New School for Social Research, part of The New School. She holds a PhD in History from Harvard University and has held positions including a postdoctoral fellowship at the Princeton Society of Fellows, a lectureship at Queen Mary, University of London, and Associate Professor of History at the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on the intellectual and legal frameworks of modern international order, statelessness, and citizenship.

Her research interests span European and U.S. intellectual history, the history of rights and legal thought, and the political dimensions of citizenship and migration. Her book Statelessness: A Modern History (2020) won multiple awards, including the Francesco Guicciardini Prize and Bentley Book Prize. Her current project, Reasoning About Borders, examines interdisciplinary debates on border control from the late 19th century to present.

As Director of the Zolberg Institute, she leads interdisciplinary research on migration and mobility. Her teaching includes courses on international political thought, migration theory, and the politics of artificial persons.
