Dr Waseem Yaqoob is a Lecturer in the History of Political Thought at Queen Mary University of London's School of History. He serves as co-director of the intercollegiate MA in History of Political Thought and Intellectual History with UCL. His research focuses on 20th-century political thought, including Hannah Arendt's work, German political thought, and the history of military occupation in South Asia. Prior to Queen Mary, he was a Lecturer at the University of Cambridge, a Research Fellow at Pembroke College, and a DAAD Visiting Fellow at Humboldt University.

- BA from the University of Cambridge
Research interests include the intellectual history of political ideas about economics, international order, and solidarity. His current projects reinterpret 20th-century German political thought in a global context, moving beyond state-centric narratives. His first book, History and Judgment: The Political Thought of Hannah Arendt, is under review with Princeton University Press.
Publications reflect expertise in Hannah Arendt’s thought and European intellectual history. Supervision areas span 20th-century political thought, German/British intellectual history, anti-colonial thought, and post-WWII Anglophone political philosophy.
Collaborative work includes directing the UCL-QMUL MA program and contributing to interdisciplinary projects on global intellectual history.
