Minna Körkkö is an Associate Professor (docent) at the University of Oulu’s Faculty of Education and Psychology, specializing in teacher education research. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical pedagogical innovation, particularly focusing on pre-service teacher development and the evolving dynamics of teacher work. Currently serving as a postdoctoral researcher in the NAVI (Navigating Teachers’ Changing Work Relationality) and RELA (Research on Teacher Relationships) projects, she explores the intersection of technology, reflective practice, and teacher well-being.
Her research portfolio emphasizes video-based methodologies, digital tools for professional development, and the socio-emotional dimensions of teaching. Key areas include pre-service teachers’ reflections on cultural competence, the impact of remote learning during pandemic conditions, and the paradoxes of teacher identity within changing societal expectations.
Dr. Körkkö’s recent publications (2023-2024) reveal a focus on three interconnected themes: 1) teacher work’s emotional and relational challenges, 2) technological innovations in pedagogical training, and 3) cross-cultural educational practices. Notable contributions include frameworks for technology-enhanced affective learning and transnational studies comparing pandemic-era teaching experiences across countries.
She actively contributes to the Narratives in Educational Research Collective (NarratED), emphasizing narrative inquiry methods. Her work has been disseminated through ORCID, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate, reflecting both Finnish and international scholarly engagement.
