معرفی
Minkui Luo, PhD, is a Chemical Biologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and a key member of the Tri-Institutional PhD Program in Chemical Biology. His research focuses on developing chemical genetic tools to study epigenetic modulators and designing inhibitors for cancer therapies, particularly targeting protein methyltransferases and acetyltransferases.
- Education: PhD (2005) from Princeton University, BA (1999) from Fudan University.
Research Interests include:
- Epigenetic regulation and its role in cellular fates.
- Chemical probe development for macromolecular structure and function studies.
- Enzymology of protein posttranslational modifications.
- Application of chemical biology in therapeutic areas like cancer and neuroscience.
- Activity-based protein profiling and proteomics.
Recent publications highlight studies on the dynamic conformational landscapes of methyltransferases (e.g., SETD8) and substrate-specific transition states in lysine methylation. These works intersect chemical biology, structural biology, and drug development.
Scientific Awards include the NIH R35 grant (2019), Eli Lilly Award in Biological Chemistry (2015), and multiple early-career honors like the NIH New Innovator Award (2010) and V Scholar Award (2009).
Luo leads a multidisciplinary lab with expertise in chemistry, biochemistry, and biology, mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows such as Gil Blum, Ian Bothwell, and Chamara Senevirathne. His lab collaborates with institutions like Weill Cornell Medical College and Shenzhen Bay Laboratory.
