Minji Kang, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine. She serves as the Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention & Control and holds roles on key committees, including the Infection Control Committee, SWAT Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, and Water Management Team.
Dr. Kang graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Cornell University. She earned her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College and completed internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in infectious diseases, infection prevention, and antimicrobial stewardship at the University of California San Diego. She is board-certified in infectious diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Her research focuses on infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection prevention. She actively contributes to professional societies such as the Infectious Diseases Society of America, HIV Medical Association, and Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America. Dr. Kang is also a sought-after lecturer at national Grand Rounds presentations.
Her committee involvement and leadership roles reflect her commitment to improving healthcare epidemiology and patient safety through evidence-based practices.
