Dr. Ming Li is an Associate Professor at UNSW Sydney's School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and an Honorary Associate Professor at Macquarie University. She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong (2013) and has conducted postdoctoral research at UCLA and the University of Houston. Her research focuses on microfluidics, biosensors, and single-cell analysis, with applications in cancer diagnosis and molecular biology.
Education: PhD in Mechanical Engineering, University of Wollongong (2013).
Research interests include droplet microfluidics, cell/particle separation, biosensor development, and cytometry for cellular heterogeneity profiling. Her work has been published in high-impact journals like Cell and Nature Protocols.
She leads projects such as the INVESTIGATOR EL1 platform for antibiotic resistance diagnostics and collaborates on the Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre. She seeks HDR students interested in microtechnology for cellular biophysics and molecular biology.
