Mindy Lang

Mindy Lang A'82 is an Assistant Professor and Creative Director at The Cooper Union, affiliated with the School of Art. She holds a BFA from the same institution and has been associated with Cooper Union for over 25 years. Currently, she teaches Professional Practice, guiding Graphic Design students through real-world projects for non-profits like City Lore, Bellevue Hospital, and The Bronx Museum of Art.

Lang also serves as Director of the Center for Design and Typography, overseeing Cooper Union’s institutional publications and print materials since 1992. Her work emphasizes collaborative design processes, blending educational innovation with practical design challenges.

Her research interests focus on graphic design pedagogy, typography, and the intersection of design with civic engagement through non-profit collaborations. Though no specific academic awards are noted, her contributions to design education and institutional design are central to her role.
