Barbara Glauber

Barbara Glauber is a graphic designer and educator currently serving on the faculty at Yale University. She previously held the Frank Stanton Chair in Graphic Design at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art during Fall 2022. As principal of Heavy Meta, a New York-based design studio, she has curated exhibitions, designed for cultural clients, and contributed to the field for over two decades.

Her educational background includes a BFA from SUNY Purchase and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts.

Glauber's research and professional work centers on Graphic Design, with specialized focus on Exhibition Design and Visual Communication. Her practice integrates typography and cultural contexts, evidenced by award-winning designs in the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum collection.

She serves as a founding partner of the Smoking Gun website and has judged numerous design competitions.
