Min Yi, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine. He graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree and completed his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Morningside-West in New York. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2009, his clinical focus is on hospital medicine.
Dr. Yi's research spans two distinct areas: hematologic malignancies and battery safety technology. In medicine, his work includes genomic analysis of acute leukemias, myeloma microenvironment studies, and molecular diagnostics. In engineering, he investigates thermal runaway prevention in lithium-ion batteries using phase change materials and flame-retardant composites. His articles bridge oncology (e.g., NPM1 mutation correlations in AML) and energy storage safety (e.g., aerogel-based thermal management systems).
Professional memberships include the Dallas County Medical Society, Society of Hospital Medicine, and American Medical Association. His recent work emphasizes translational research, combining clinical observations with material science innovations to address both medical and energy sector challenges.
