Dr Jianping Zhang is a Reader in Fire Dynamics and Materials at the School of Architecture and the Built Environment, Ulster University. Holding a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Numerical Modelling of Pool Fires from Kingston University (2005), he has contributed extensively to fire safety research through academic roles and EU-funded projects like FP6 PredFIRE-Nano, FP7 ENFIRO, and H2020 EENSULATE.
