Mimi Rosenberg is a faculty member at Bank Street College of Education, holding roles as Supervised Fieldwork Advisor and Course Instructor. She joined the graduate faculty in 1995 and has served as Program Director for childhood, middle childhood, and adolescent general and special education programs. Her expertise spans language, literacy, and social studies education, with a focus on equity and inclusion.
She has extensive prior experience as a special education teacher in New York City and an English as a Foreign Language instructor in Madrid, Spain. Her doctoral studies at Teachers College, Columbia University, inform her work. Rosenberg advocates for marginalized groups through sociopolitical and aesthetic lenses of linguistic diversity.
Her research emphasizes augmenting clinical models in education, as seen in her 1987 publication. She co-presented on secondary special education perspectives in 2016. Rosenberg is committed to fostering justice and joy in education through her teaching, advising, and program leadership.
