Miles Hentrup is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication & Philosophy at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), part of the College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Stony Brook University (2017), an M.A. (2010) and B.A. (2007) in Philosophy from the University of Oregon. His research focuses on G.W.F. Hegel's engagement with Kantian critical philosophy and the development of Critical Theory from Kant to Marx.
Teaching specialties include courses on the History of Ideas, Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, and in-depth studies of Kant, Hegel, and Marx. Recent courses taught include PHI 1010, PHI 2000, PHI 3930 (Philosophy and Climate Change), and PHM 3101 (Philosophies of Liberation).
