Milena Nagengast

Milena Nagengast is a Senior Lecturer Post Doc at the Institute for English Business Communication, Vienna University of Economics and Business, and a Lecturer of Business German at the University of Vienna.

She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Social Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her award-winning dissertation, titled "Evaluation in Earnings Announcements: An Analysis of Their Accounting Narratives and Their Impact on a Firm's Value," received the prestigious Stephan Koren Prize and an award from the Dr. Maria Schaumayer Stiftung.

Her research focuses on the intersection of business administration and linguistics, particularly examining how accounting narratives in corporate communications affect firm valuation. She has developed innovative interdisciplinary approaches connecting financial reporting with linguistic analysis.

Nagengast has extensive teaching experience across educational levels, having taught English, Business, and Accounting at secondary schools while also working with professional athletes through Karriere Danach (KADA). At the university level, she teaches specialized courses including English Business Communication, Internal Business Communication, and Accounting Meets Linguistics: Critical Perspectives on Corporate Reporting.

She serves as Chair of the Research Committee for the Association for Business Communication and regularly presents her work at international conferences, demonstrating her active engagement in academic discourse.
