Mikko A.J. Finnilä

Dr. Mikko A.J. Finnilä is an Assistant Professor in the Research Unit of Medical Imaging Physics and Technology at the University of Oulu's Faculty of Medicine. His work focuses on advancing computed tomography techniques for osteoarthritis (OA) research.

Research interests include:

• Contrast-enhanced CT and high-resolution CT/x-ray microscopy
• Image segmentation and machine learning applications
• Development of imaging biomarkers for OA diagnosis
• Soft tissue high-resolution CT imaging

Publications demonstrate expertise in microstructural analysis of cartilage and bone using CT, with emphasis on automated methods and clinical translation. Currently no scientific awards listed.
