Dr. Mike Dishman serves as Dean of the College of Education and Professor of Education Policy & Governance at the University of West Georgia. He holds a J.D. from the University of Mississippi and Ed.D. in Education Leadership & Policy from Vanderbilt University.
With over 25 years representing public school districts, his scholarly work focuses on education law/policy, governance, organizational change, ethics, and crisis leadership. He has co-authored six books and serves on editorial boards including the Peabody Journal of Education and American Association of School Administrators publications.
Prior administrative roles include program coordinator, department chair, associate dean, graduate dean, associate vice president, and associate vice provost positions spanning more than a decade.
