Mike Ballinger is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton since December 2014. He is a full-time BSL/English sign language interpreter since 2001, actively contributing to both the Deaf and hearing communities. His work focuses on the educational development of future BSL/English interpreters in the UK.

Research Interests
Mike's research explores the physical, mental, and emotional stresses faced by BSL/English interpreters. Key areas include the impact of role-specific challenges on well-being, the influence of interpreters' motivations and personality types on career longevity, and the effectiveness of available support structures and coping strategies.
