Mikael Sigvardsson is a Professor at Linköping University's Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV), affiliated with the Division of Molecular Medicine and Virology (MMV). He holds a position within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and is part of the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine (WCMM). His research focuses on transcription factor networks, hematopoietic stem cells, and leukemia pathogenesis.
Key research interests include understanding how transcription factors like Early B-Cell Factor 1 regulate B-lymphocyte development and malignant transformation. His work bridges basic science and clinical implications, particularly in acute lymphocytic leukemia and hematopoietic stem cell defects.
Recent publications explore the role of ETV6::RUNX1 mutations in leukemia and the molecular mechanisms underlying blood cell formation defects. He contributes to medical and biomedical education programs at his division.
