معرفی
Mikael Karlsson is a Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology, Karolinska Institutet. His research focuses on the regulation of the immune system, particularly B cells and macrophages, in autoimmune diseases and cancer. He leads the 'Inflammatory responses in cancer and autoimmunity' research group, which investigates mechanisms underlying autoimmunity, allergy, cardiovascular disease, and tumor microenvironments.
Education: Docent (2009), Karolinska Institutet. Active collaborations include institutions such as the University of Toronto, Rockefeller University, and NIH. His group employs advanced techniques like multiphoton microscopy and flow cytometry.
Research Interests: Autoimmunity (e.g., systemic lupus erythematosus), cancer immunology, B cell and macrophage interactions, and immunotherapy development. Key projects include targeting TAM macrophages in tumors and studying B cell dysregulation in autoimmune conditions.
Publications: Over 100 articles in journals like Cancer Cell, Nature Communications, and Immunity, highlighting work on immune tolerance mechanisms, extracellular vesicle therapies, and cytokine signaling.
Lab & Collaborations: Hosts PhD students and collaborates globally. Focus areas include developing novel treatments for autoimmune diseases and cancer through immune modulation.
