Mihaela Ribičić Penava is a Professor at the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. Her research focuses on mathematical inequalities and their applications in numerical analysis.
- PhD (2009), MSc (2005): Department of Mathematics, University of Zagreb
- BSc (2001): Department of Mathematics, University of Osijek
Her research interests span mathematical inequalities, convex functions, and quadrature methods, with a particular emphasis on Hermite-Hadamard, Fejér, and Ostrowski-type inequalities. She has developed novel integral identities and error bounds for numerical integration techniques.
Recent publications analyze generalized inequalities, Grüss-type bounds, and quadrature formulae for higher-order convex functions. These works frequently utilize Chebyshev functionals and Montgomery identities to refine numerical approximation accuracy.
Professional activities include:
- Member of the Editorial Board, Osječki matematički list (since 2017)
- Chair/Member of organizing/programming committees for mathematics education conferences (2016-2022)
She teaches courses in elementary mathematics, set theory, convex functions, and integral calculus at the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics. Her academic service also includes participation in winter math schools and science festivals.
