Zdenka Kolar-Begović is a Full Professor at the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. She holds a PhD in Mathematics (2003) from the University of Zagreb and specializes in nonassociative algebraic structures, geometry in isotropic planes, and mathematics education.
- PhD in Mathematics, Department of Mathematics, University of Zagreb (2003)
- MSc in Mathematics, University of Zagreb (1999)
- BSc in Mathematics and Physics, University of Osijek (1993)
Her research focuses on geometric properties of triangles in isotropic planes, including Brocard circles, Kiepert hyperbolas, and Steiner ellipses. She explores connections between abstract algebraic structures (like cubic structures and quasigroups) and their geometric applications, such as affine-regular polygons and Fullerene models.
She has contributed to mathematics education research, analyzing blended learning environments and assessment design for prospective primary school teachers. Her work includes editorial roles at Osječki matematički list and peer review for Mathematical Reviews.
Current projects involve nonassociative algebraic structures and geometric research funded by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education. She teaches Elementary Geometry and Analytic and Constructive Geometry at the university level.
