Professor Ivan Matić is a Full Professor and Head of the Algebra, Analysis and Number Theory Research Group at the School of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. His expertise spans representation theory of p-adic groups, the Langlands program, and theta correspondence. He holds a PhD in theoretical mathematics from the University of Zagreb (2010) and BSc degrees in Mathematics from the University of Osijek (2006) and Mathematics and Computer Science Education from the same institution (2010).
His research focuses on automorphic forms, unitary representations, and reducibility criteria for induced representations. Notable contributions include studies on discrete series of odd general spin groups, reducibility of Speh representations, and Jacquet modules of segment-type representations. He has published extensively in journals like Manuscripta Mathematica, Pacific Journal of Mathematics, and Representation Theory.
Professor Matić teaches courses such as Mathematics II for Civil Engineering and oversees research projects funded by the Croatian Science Foundation. His professional activities include editorial roles at Mathematical Communications and Osječki matematički list, and contributions to mathematics education through textbooks and problem-based learning materials.
