Marko Tadić is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Zagreb since 1987, specializing in representation theory of reductive groups over p-adic fields and their connections to automorphic forms via the Langlands program. He is a Full Member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (2000–) and a Member of Academia Europaea (2000–). His research interests include harmonic analysis, number theory, and the interplay between representation theory and automorphic forms.
- Education: B.S. (1976), M.S. (1979), Ph.D. (1980) in Mathematics from the University of Zagreb.
- Visiting Positions: Held visiting roles at institutions worldwide, including the University of Chicago, Université Paris VII, Max-Planck-Institute, University of Utah, and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences in Singapore.
- Awards: Recipient of the prestigious Rudjer Bošković Prize (1989), Croatia's highest annual prize for natural sciences.
- Leadership Roles: Served as Head of the Division for Algebra and Logic (multiple terms), Director of Graduate Studies in Mathematics (1994–2000), and Editor-in-Chief of Glasnik Matematički (1998–2001).
Research Focus: Tadić’s work centers on the structure of unitary representations, reducibility of parabolic inductions, and the Langlands conjectures. Key contributions include foundational studies on p-adic classical groups and their unitarizability.
