Miguel Vasconcelos Da Silva is the Associate Director of the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Academic Psychiatry and Department of Old Age Psychiatry within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). He is also associated with the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Brain Health and the Community Ageing Research Across Ethnicities (CARE) Network. His work focuses on dementia, neuropsychiatric symptoms, and aging in diverse populations.
Education: PhD in dementia research from the University of Exeter (2024), Nursing degree from the University of Madeira. Prior clinical experience includes roles in care homes and King’s College Hospital’s Hyper Acute Stroke Unit.
Research Interests: Biomarkers for neurocognitive disorders, clinicogenomic analysis of apathy/depression in dementia, and promoting inclusive research in minority ethnic communities. He leads the Care Home Research Network (CHRN) to advance dementia studies in care settings.
Grants & Collaboration: Co-Director of CHRN, instrumental in NIHR HealthTech initiatives. Active in post-pandemic health equity research through the CARE Network.
