Miguel Cardoso is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Brock University, where he focuses on international economics, migration, macroeconomics, and labor economics. His research explores the interplay between migration dynamics and trade patterns, as well as labor market responses to policy changes and crises.

His recent work examines how government policies during crises affect international trade, the labor market impacts of temporary foreign worker programs, and the role of immigrants in enhancing export capabilities. Cardoso employs Canadian administrative data and general equilibrium models to analyze mobility trends, trade disruptions, and cross-border economic interactions.
Cardoso teaches graduate-level International Trade and undergraduate Intermediate Macroeconomics courses. His research has been presented at institutions including Wilfrid Laurier University, San Diego State University, and the Canadian Economic Association conferences.
